Alexandra Maria Lara has been an Romanian/German film and television actress for over a decade. Alexandra is known for the roles she played in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. The actress was born as the sole son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. When she was 16, Alexandra played the leading part in a variety of dramas on television. Following her critically-acclaimed character in the TV movie Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge on Downfall. The film won an Oscar and received critical and commercial success. Additional Oscar nominated film starring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Through the years, Alexandra has worked in several noteworthy national and international projects. These include British biographical Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historical mini-series Napoleon among others. In addition, she was an active member of jury for the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
